Car vs Public Transport & Ride-Hailing Calculator
Enter one confirmed alternative-transport view and either a quick or detailed car view. The calculator reconciles monthly and annual cost, time, loan maturity, vehicle equity, household headroom, break-even and user-controlled sensitivity without recommending a transport mode or claiming any Grab affiliation.
PTC · SimplyGo · user-confirmed costs · methodology v1.1.0 · reference checked 8 Sep 2026
Compare a car with public transport and generic ride-hailing using one reconciled monthly view. Costs, trip frequency, time and future-return assumptions remain yours; this tool has no Grab affiliation.
Public methodology
Monthly totals use 52 weeks ÷ 12 months. Only the selected alternative-transport mode is counted. Public transport fares are per traveller; generic ride-hailing fares are per vehicle. Benefits are applied once, and loan payments stop at the entered maturity month before full-horizon averages are calculated. Market end value and paper value must never be added twice.
