CPF Dependants’ Protection Scheme: when to count it in your gap
DPS may be a resource, but it should be counted only after you confirm current cover and the actual sum assured.Open coverage-gap calculator →The dated figures used by the calculator
| Confirmed policy-year band | Maximum sum assured |
|---|---|
| Until the end of the policy year in which the member turns 60 | S$70,000 |
| Thereafter until the end of the policy year in which the member turns 65 | S$55,000 |
Figures reviewed against the CPF Board page on 1 Sep 2026. Eligibility, active cover and the actual sum assured remain subject to CPF and the appointed insurer’s records.
Three confirmation steps
- Check your latest CPF or appointed-insurer record.
- Confirm that cover is active, what events are covered and the actual sum assured.
- Select “Confirmed current cover” in the calculator, then enter the verified amount.
Why it is excluded by default
Age, CPF eligibility or past coverage does not prove that cover is active today. Default exclusion prevents an unverified amount from being treated as a household resource.
DPS is not a complete needs analysis
Confirmed DPS cover is one available resource. Household support, mortgage, other debts, education and other obligations still need to be modelled from your scenario.
